Live long enough, and you’ll find yourself in real danger at some point in life. Under threat from a serious physical ailment or a life-altering relational rift, a circumstantial crisis or facing the severe consequences of your own sin; this world is full of peril. But where do we turn in our time of need? As we return to the book of Psalms and chapter 35 specifically, David reminds us exactly where we ought to bring all our troubles: straight to the Lord. As the apostle Peter puts it in the New Testament, we can “cast all our cares on Him, because He cares for you” (1 Pet 5:7). And, David adds, because the Lord is faithful to deliver us from evil.
